…maybe I’m the worst ‘sports’ fan ever, but i respect a good challenge and a loss is never the end of the world…i do not waste my time or energy to ‘hate’ on any other team, (especially if they are clearly good at what they do…that just makes no sense…but the world would be nothing without its bitter haters huh??)…if the team I loved sucked, or did not do as good as another team why would I take my time or energy to ‘hate’ on a better team?? I support my team no matter what. That is where my focus is, on love…not on hate…so with that said, good game Oklahoma. You won at home like a championship contender is supposed to now we shall see where the series goes from here…win or lose, I will always love my Spurs. Go Spurs!!
…Spurs love…ICS style…show me yours ;-)
for spacious skies
for amber waves of grain
for purple mountain majesties
above the fruited plain
America
America
god shed his grace on thee
and crown thy good
with brotherhood
from sea to shining sea
(my message to that dude and all of his penis riders…not the true Lakers fans, but the #24 fans that have grown to dislike or hate every other truly hard working NBA team)…yes, maybe if your team actually liked you and you didn’t act so arrogant you might win something again…sorry, maybe next year…most teams have a big two or three…you are just a big one…(just to clarify, I will NEVER hate any other team, no need, I am a Spurs fan, that is where my focus is, not on hating any other team…makes no damn sense…I just don’t like that guy…the rest of his team I have no opinions what so ever about…)GO SPURS!!!Love:-)
… is the San Antonio Spurs? Sounds about right.
“There’s a reason that Bridezillas is a show and there’s nothing called Reasonably Well-Planned Wedding Enjoyed by All. Americans don’t want excellence, and we certainly don’t want long-term sustained excellence. We want our dynasties to come with a side order of drama, controversy, and bad behavior. We want anti-heroes and the occasional impulsive retirement to pursue a baseball career. We want to watch a train wreck and then tut-tut in a smug self-satisfied way about the irresponsibility of the people who caused it. We want to maintain our high ideals, without needing to walk the walk. Nobody can hate the Spurs, so nobody wants to love them. It’s more comfortable for everyone if we can just pretend they don’t exist.”
Here’s why we San Antonians don’t ignore the Spurs. Here’s why we fans urge the city to Keep San Antonio Lame. The Spurs metonymically represent much of the city’s boring yet exceptional nature.
Competent, businesslike success gives us nothing to work with. Kobe Bryant’s egomaniacal play, LeBron James’ absurd television special, and Dwight Howard’s “should I stay or should I go” antics are polarizing. By inviting hatred and criticism, they promote response and enthusiasm.
But does it have to be that way? A city of 2.2 million inhabitants can emphatically profess love for uninteresting phenomena like the Spurs; why can’t the rest of the nation? Is America a bunch of hypocrites? Lajefita highlighted a good excerpt from the article: “Nobody can hate the Spurs, so nobody wants to love them.” That kind of extreme mentality is lame, and not in the cool San Antonian sense.
“The San Antonio metropolitan area’s 2.2 million inhabitants ranks it above Sacramento, Orlando, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Memphis, New Orleans, and not least of all Oklahoma City.” the ‘small market’ excuse torn down…great article. a must read for all Spurs fans. I know I have felt this way for a long time…
Game 4 tonight! 5PM West Coast/7PM Texas

I’m still confused about this phrase. Is it aggressive? The Spurs are usually so friendly, and so are we fans. I guess I didn’t hear Pop’s comment in context.
Go Spurs Go!
